Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure & Operations Engineer who is not only technically adept but also possesses a strong commitment to project completion, extreme teamwork, and coaching. The individual will be responsible for managing, designing, and implementing the company's complex IT infrastructure in a way that helps our business achieve its goals on time.
 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee, maintain, and enhance the organization's existing IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot high-level hardware, software, and networking issues, making sure that operational efficiency is not compromised.
  • Project Management: Lead IT projects, ensuring they are completed within the stipulated timeline and within budget. This includes identifying and allocating resources, managing timelines, and coordinating with different teams and stakeholders.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Work in close association with various teams, supporting their technical needs, and collaborating on cross-functional projects.
  • Coaching & Development: Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your technical expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and manage security protocols and ensure the organization's IT infrastructure adheres to compliance standards.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate and manage relationships with vendors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products/services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing complex IT infrastructures.
  • Prior experience managing small-well integrated IT Teams
  • Experience with network design and implementation, including knowledge of network protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and routers.
  • Strong understanding of IT security protocols and compliance standards.
  • Experience in scripting and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proven record of mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • A relentless commitment to achieving project deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
  • The ideal candidate has more than 5-years’ experience in a senior network engineering position with the ability to serve as an expert partitioner in the following technologies and frameworks:
  • Operating Systems: Deep knowledge of major operating systems like Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Networking: Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP), VPNs, firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and network troubleshooting.
  • Databases: Experience with database technologies like SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.
  • Cloud Platforms: Mastery of Azure including services related to authentication, compute, storage, database, networking, and various managed services.
  • Virtualization and Containerization: Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMWare, Hyper-V and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Scripting and Programming: Ability to write scripts in languages like Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Perl to automate routine tasks.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with system and network monitoring tools like Dynatrace, SolarWinds, and Splunk.
  • DevOps Practices and Tools: Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions. Also, proficiency with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Security: Basic understanding of IT security concepts, tools, and best practices. This could include firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other security measures.
  • ITIL/ITSM: Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL, is required.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tools (JIRA, Trello, Asana, etc.).
  • Local candidates preferred.
